Oh alright. Saturday was pretty amazing as I received notification from Pilchuck that I was accepted into Klaus Moje's class in July and August. I don't think that it has really sunk in yet. My head is spinning. I know from what you and Avery have told me that it will be a wonderful experience. This is a whole other world for me. But what an opportunity. I feel very fortunate to have been accepted. I did not expect to hear either way this early. How about anyone else?

I actually phoned them 2 days ago, but they didn't call me back. I read the booklet again and it says April 5th. So hopefully Monday, I will be doing a dance of joy \:D/ and not a having a big pout on :( Got my fingers crossed.....

Pilchuck is the premier glass school in the world.

Klaus Moje is the premier fuser in the world.

Pretty good combo!

It is indeed an honor. And a stroke of luck. And it's a rare one, Klaus teaches less and less, and there were probably several hundred applicants for that course.

Does 'luck' really have anything to do with it? I agree that there must have been several hundred applicants. This class was advertised as 'non-juried' and acceptance was supposed to be by (random?) lottery. I may be a skeptic, but it would be interesting to see the student list for his class.

I'm not trying to fault Philchuck at all. I want to attend, also. However, I have a feeling that a lot of it has to do with who you know. Please feel free to correct my assumptions.

I wouldn't correct them at all, I KNOW your suspicions are accurate. In fact, I just had some correspondence with the new Director, about that very thing, and made a few suggestions, (which will be ignored). I drop in at Pilchuck several times a year, and I see the same students over and over. Luck? Not likely! Brock

I guess I might as well do the pout thing now then. :( I definitely will be on the bottom of the list if what you guys are saying is true. Too bad, because it really isn't fair. Oh well, it's not like there aren't any really good courses out there other than Pilchuk and Moje.

 :(
I also want to express my disappointment if I do not get into Moje's class in Pilchuck. I enrolled last year at Northlands school of glass in Scotlad to study with him, but he was after a car accident and was not allowed by the doctors to get out of Aussi.
They offered the class with Jessica Loughlin, who was his student. However, I KNOW that a class with Moje would look absolutely different.
And after having had a class with Rudi Gritsch, and Jess, it really seems I should study with Moje, ...........
wow, I am so disappointed - especially in view of the fact that it has to do with things other than honesty............
