if a piece comes out, and it has little pits and imperfections on the surface, making it rough, etc
is it possilbe to use a borax wash or super spray and then fire polish to get rid of minor flaws
if not, how do you do it
im trying to get away from cold working, if possible
any help on this is, as always, is appreciated

YEAH,,,I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN,,,,but when there is a spot in the middle of a really flat and shinny part, it isnt what im looking for, and would like to make the surface texture all the same,,,for some pate de verre, i totally agree, but i just did a piece,,,,and it turne out fine, except for a couple of places, im wondering if there was something in the glass, perhaps it was clean properly,,,,but id like to get it looking like the rest of the piece,,,thanks for the comeback,,,rodney

I think that you will have to sandblast first or belt sand the area back to flat and then refire. Or else fill the pit with frit and refire or something?
