Re: Mega blade for Taurus III
it might with the mega blade, i also have a taurus 3, depends on how thick and you won't get the straight cuts on the taurus that you will on a tile saw, you'll get a somewhat ripple effect down the side....AZ gram wrote:I'm confused. Will the Taurus III mega blade cut pattern bars? I would like to occasionally do something with pattern bars and I do have the Taurus III.

Earlier in this thread, I mentioned that I had just got a couple of the inexpensive Lopacki lapidary blades in and that I'd report back.
They cut WONDERFUL !!
The only problem with them, is because they are so thin, you must start your cut at 90 degrees to the glass. Once you have a little "nick" there to guide the blade, you can then veer off at an angle. By angle, I mean still a straight cut, but a cut NOT 90 degrees to the glass.
The ones I got are 4" diameter FINE and .008 inches thick:

Re: Mega blade for Taurus III
it should with the mega blade but a)be carefull how hard you push and b)watch the wear on the grommets and the amount of play on the blade as you put a few hours on that set of grommets - also not sure how smooth a side you'll get with the mega blade - with the standard blade doing straight cuts even using the straight guide you get a ridgy surface - a tile saw would be the best tool for the pattern bar....AZ gram wrote:I'm confused. lapidary saw blades
Bill Brach, what make and model of saw are you using your Lopacki blades in? I'm concerned to get a saw that is sufficiently vibration-free...
dblood - read my original post in this thread, about 1/2 down Page 1...
