Convex polishing pads

I purchased the Felasetti Angle Grinder today. The polishing disks I purchased are different than those I've seen used and am wondering if they will work as well as a completely flat surfaced pad.
Since granite city's expertise is really stone, all they could say about effectiveness on glass was "it should work".
Would like some experienced users feedback. I'm really excited about this.
