Good find Brock. The bar has again been raised by our friends in the southern hemisphere. Nice work!

It was great to see all of you also. This site was sent to me by Laurie Young, whose excellent Hawaiian shirts are part of the exhibition. There seems to me, to be no doubt that the most innovative kiln formed work is coming from down under. Accept the challenge everyone. Brock

PS To be PC, (and everyone knows how much I like to bow to that dogma)
of course there are MANY exceptions to my statement all over the world.

Really outstanding stuff. By and large the artist statements aren't too annoying either. Most of them.

Jim Randall's 'detour'....Is that really granite and glass coldworked together? what a lot of work!

I guess. One of the Carlson's, (I can never keep them straight) has made a career out of combing polished glass and stone sculptures. Brock

An excellent bit of prose, Brock!

Now, get thee back into thine own studio.

Can't wait. Got glass, got time. got ideas. Now, just a few more hours of bookkeeping, school critiques and fund raising, and it's my turn. Yee hah!

William Carlson has a granite and glass piece in the Renwick Gallery called Pragnanz (I see in my 'Skilled Work' book). Lot of work.

hi Brock,
unfortunately, even with all those sponsors they are still not sure if it will go to the states the way it did last year, and was shown at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
cheers,
Laurie

Hi John,
because it is a traveling show I ended up having stands made. I drilled and put pins in one shirt and hung it up for a week and it was fine, but I had visions of them crashing to the ground at a show. They will be fine to be hung once they are in one spot.
