One more time
Ok what am I doing wrong here?
I tried cutting & pasting the image URL with the Img function - didn't work!
This particular webshots album is set up as public - desn't seem to be working!
Any suggestions?

Here's the techniques Barbara asked about:
Center black/dichro piece - three layers total of BE glass - black is clear sandwiched. Fired 3 times. Abrasive etched (or should I say carved) in between firings to take out the dratted bubbles that were captured between the dichro chips. The initial 2 firings of this center piece were very slow squeeze firings, but bubbles still happened! (Will have to do one of the ole Brock tricks of placing air release chads.) The surface actually has a tactile and interesting three dimensional topside due to the etching.
The clear glass radiating pieces on the surface were laid up - 4 layers thick and initially fired seperately from the rest of the platter. After this firing, the soft edged organic shapes were acheived by cold working and abrasive etching.
I made the platter form with built up layers of fiber blanket - then centered the black piece on the fiber and laid up a 1/4" thick layer of large size frit for the outer rim. The etched clear rays were laid on the top of the frit and black center and all was fired to a medium tack fuse temp that gave everything a nice fire polish. Four total firings from start to finish.
One last masked abrasive etch to create a matte surface on the black center area.
This piece is actually a test run for pieces for the glass installation that I'm collaborating on with Bert, Amy & Geri. These smooth/texture combinations have me going - LOL! Now, it's back to the studio to refine the idea and play more with color.
I'm addicted - I'm addicted to this pretty sparkley stuff - just can't help it! Glass is too much fun!!
