My lessons learned about cracking on sconces might help you. Naturally I learned the hard way. When you slump, use a ramp rate of 75 to 100 degrees per hours. Barbara Muth and Laurie Spray helped me with this problem when I first started. It's so hard to see those cracks right in the middle and that seems to be the pattern of cracking. Good luck.
I used to live on the Oregon Coast on the Alsea Bay--a bird sanctuary with lots of herons and other birds. I made a panel for the windbreak on my deck with a heron. Everyone loved it. Of course, I left it in Oregon when we sold the house. Here we have cranes which look similar. I'm planning to do a panel for the art show this March when the cranes migrate.
