Any reason not to make a reusable clay mold for shallow, open face casting (no undercuts)?

I have done it several times, to make back reliefs.

The molds tend to be wide, so one must be carefull with drying and firing the mold.

I support the mold on pairs large of kiln brick wedges to
make it level and have enough support area.

In repetive work the separator is a problem.
In full fuse temps it is better to replace the kiln wask
after every fuse. Scaping off from a fine detail mold
is not fun. Instead of kiln wash I use 1-2 ratio
plaster and Al2O3. Maybe 1-4 is enough and parts off easier.
