Float glass base with 2" x 3" surface area UV adhesive strong connection...Any suggestions on separating?.. I tried soaking underwater for days with no effect. I'm wondering if heat will work?
Thanks, Don

I have removed fused glass, which was attached to float with UV glue, with a slow firing up to 800°F.

The adhesive we use breaks down at about 350.

I put it in a convection over, bring it up at about 100 degrees per hour, grab it with oven mitts and it usually comes apart pretty easily.

Then I clean it up with razor blade and rubbing alcohol.

Try soaking in acetone. That will soften many adhesives.

Although the bond between the two pieces of glass was broken somewhere between 300-400°F, the higher temperature made the residue easier to remove.

Microwave,

Works like a charm, it heats the glue as it's the only organic material in there.

done it dozens of times.
