BE Mold

Post by lbailey »

Have been busy fusing tiles, plates, cabs and a bowl. Some edge construction and a nice pattern bar piece, all going pretty well so far. Bowl didn't come out great but I really didn't properly true up the edges of the blank before slumping, so that was my fault. Can't expect it to magically turn round while slumping, eh?

I bought several molds, one is the large BE Square plate. However, the bottom (working side) of the mold seems slightly lumpy and not smooth like my other, smaller square molds. Is there a way to fix this? Can I (carefully) remove those high spots with the right grit emory cloth? Filter mask on of course.

Other suggestions?

Thanks

If the mold is brand new and you haven't yet used it, perhaps considering returning it. Maybe it was just a fluke and it is a bad mold?
I know that the molds are not cheap and you want something with quality.
