Hello, I have been experimenting with creating a channel in my glass pendants instead of the glue on bail option. The only issue I am having is that the glass pulls at the fibre paper during firing which leaves me with sharp edges at the opening on the finished piece. Short of cold working and re-firing, does anyone have a trick to avoid this?

You can try making the fiber paper slightly shorter than the width of the pendant it's resting on, maybe by a 16th of an inch, instead of extending it beyond the pendant edges. That little gap shouldn't be enough to trap the fiber paper in the glass, but it will allow the glass to pull in and round off the edge a bit.

I suspect you'll still need to do some coldworking. Wrap some wet-dry on a popsicle stick or something like that and carefully grind just the sharp edges until you can't feel them with your finger. If you're careful it won't really show, so there's no need to refire.
