I recently ordered acrylic plate stands from Morgan Depot and from Easels by Amron to compare them. since I am making a lot of large shallow bowls now.
While Morgan Depot's were slightly cheaper, they made up for it by charging $15 for shipping, versus the $9.72 that Easels by Amron charged.
When they arrived, the difference in craftsmanship was obvious. The stands from Amron are what I expected. The stands from Morgan are heavy and awkward-looking.
Morgan will not take a return. I explained that I was disappointed in them because they did not look like the picture. Their response is, "I am disappointed" does not qualify as a factory defect.
It is not worth it to me to try to get my credit card company not to pay this charge. After all, they have got me on the fine print (their returns policy).
Just wanted to pass this information along and maybe save someone else some money.

I don't know either of those companies but your evaluation seems a bit harsh and lacks supporting information. What did you order from each and what did you get? Most of what the 2 companies carry is generic and probably made by the same 4 factories in China.
I did get a kick out of Morgan's fine print- there must be a lawyer in the family.
Anyway, I hope you weren't out zillions.

Re: Beware of Morgan Depot
Thanks for your suggestion that I post photos, Morganica, but my amateur photos would probably not show any more than Morgan's professional photos. And Marty, even though the stands look quite similar in their respective photos, they are different weights, and have different shapes.
If you don't care to take my word for it that the stands from Morgan were heavy and awkward-looking compared to the Amron stands, then perhaps my second point would be helpful, and that is the harsh return policy of Morgan.
Morgan's return policy includes that they will only take a return if there is a "factory defect." An item that is (frankly) ugly, and doesn't look like its photo, does not have a "factory defect."
Compare that to the returns policy for Amron, which requires a return authorization number, that you call within 20 days, and that you pay a 15% restocking fee. That is the kind of policy that builds loyalty.
