Why lines in one piece of fired glass but not the other?

The green glass in both of these fused blanks was cut from the same sheet and fired in the same load. Why did one end up with lines? I fused a total of 8 blanks from the same green sheet, and 3 have these lines. I think they look really cool, but I don't understand how they appeared. This is 96 glass if that makes any difference. Thanks for your insight!

Did you check the back of the glass before cutting? I noticed that some of the newer Spectrum colors have lines towards the edge of the glass and it doesn't fire away.

Yes, I did. There weren't any lines prior to firing. Thanks for your reply!

When you fully fuse glass, one color sinks in to the surrounding color. It is possible that the colors in the sheet realigned themselves in a fuse firing. Streaky glasses have varying patterns, especially beneath the surface.

Thanks, Bert. I have never had this happen before, so I'm glad to know it can occur when I least expect it! This was system 96 Celadon, just in case anyone reading this wants to know the specific color.

No, I didn't think about doing that, but I will. Thanks!
