Hello friends.

I did a fusing using Murano Glass coe 104

I created 15 Tiles -5mm clear + Murrine MIllefiori on . Some of they after fusing got some (cracks?) in the bottom while others have soome strange white scratches on the top.

I used BE thinfine.

Please can you understand what happened? can refuse ? can use Spray A on the top ?

thanks for support and collaboration

It is hard to say. The lines on top appear to be mini starts that happened during the heatup and healed at the top. The cracks on the bottom may well be due to poor annealing. I don't see evidence of incompatibility.

Glass has a way of showing you what has happened to it throughout it's heating and cooling history. I doubt you can heal all that.

Sure looks like incompat. cracks around each mf (unless it's a photo artifact). No idea re the lines. Did you check with polarizing films?

Hi Mike, what temp did you fuse to? Effetre clear (sheet and rod) generally has a lot of little bubbles and is quite textured, much harder to get clean than S96 or bullseye and some batches are just scummy. I scrub with a green scourer and dishwashing liquid, dry, then wipe down with cheap vodka. I also full fuse a bit hotter than recommended for 104 at S96 temps (anneal at 510C). Most 104 is only 104ish and can range from 100 - 108 and you will frequently see small cracks when using transparent and opals.

Effetre 104 is a difficult glass to fuse. For me, it devitrifies horribly.

The commercially made murinni are not always compatible, and I can see the halos surrounding your murinni in the pictures. Clear signs of incompatibility.

Unfortunately, you cannot fix nor save these.

I am working on a project using Uroboros 104 now, and I am having compatibility problems with the red and mauve/light purple shifting COE's when firing in the kiln.

hello and thanks for all your replies.

My target temp is 725C

never got devetrification neither stress with polaring films.

In my second fusing i clean more and better and results was eccellent.ok
