Printing on glass - - -

My friend Ruthie is a photographer.

Upon talking about printing on glass, she asked me if it will be possible to print a photograph of hers on glass, and will it be transparent [with colors] as glass.
My assumption is that this relates to the quality of the print / inking print. Whether it is transparent or opaque.

Am I right?
Are there at all printing inks for glass that are transparent?

We shall be very thankful for your response.

Havi

You could turn it into a decal and then fuse the decal onto the glass, Havi. I did that a while back with some of my photos. There is a place you upload your images to and they send you the decals. They can be black and white or color. Here is some examples of when I tried it to see what they would look like.

The above was on a piece of white glass.

This one was on a clear piece of glass.

This is what the sheet of decals look like (minus the ones I cut out to put on glass)

I believe this is the play I bought them from. He charges by the page of decals:

Hope this helps.

The transparent colors tend to be low fire, around 1050ºF. These colors are hard to come by these days. Fusemaster sells some. Ferro makes them, but does not export them to the USA. I think you can get them in Europe.

There was a company called Glassmasters that screen printed transparent and opaque enamels to reproduce stained glass windows in small panels. I found this picture.

Hi Havi, I haven't tried this process myself but have this site bookmarked...it seems close to what you're looking for.
