Dichroic Cabechons

I have had wonderful success making dichroic cabs for various jewelry projects. I have generally been fusing 2 pieces together, although I have fused an opaque base, followed with a mosaic of various pieces of dichroic and regular Bullseye, capped with clear. I recently saw some very impressive cabs with tremendous depth and color. Does anyone have any techniques that they could share?
