woop woop....i did a pot melt!

Post by lauren »

HOORAH! i finally got over the 'my kiln is too small why bother' line of thought and gave it a whirl. (workin with a quickfire) :P got itsy bitsy 3" pots and set it all up. there was only about 2" or so space for the drip, but it definitely worked a lot better than i expected. i used cut up shelves and fiberpaper to damn the sides in. here it is:

it's about 5" by 4" this was 3 different opaque blues, 2 transparent blues and white.

i love the center :)

that's my favorite part i love how the colors blended

it's kinda rough (and needs to be cleaned better) but i like how the back came out too!

what i learned:

1) i need a bigger kiln ASAP. donations cheerfully accepted. ;)
2) contrasting colors lauren, CONTRASTING
3) repeat # 1.

thanks for all the inspiration everybody!

peace

I don't know, there's something to be said for subtlety. I was thinking about doing an all-blue panel just yesterday myself.
