Re: Adding cremains to already fused piece?
Does anyone here know which type mortar & pestle (material) would be best for grinding the cremains to make them finer?

Re: Jen-Ken Kilns
I have their AF3P fusebox and have been happy with it, although it is my first kiln (other than the fuseworks microwave one!). We ordered through kiln frog though, but when our kiln arrived without the kiln shelf, I had to deal straight with jen-ken. At first the man I talked to made me feel like I ...

Re: Which bail for tear drop pendant?
Thanks! I just checked out your tutorial on how to drill the hole for the pinch bail. I'll have to find some diamond drill bits for my dremmel then I can try it out!

Which bail for tear drop pendant?
I am having a horrible time trying to find bails to fit my tear drop pendants. The ones I find in-store are too big for the narrow part of the tear drop. And when ordering online all I can do is guess and they are never right. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm interested in glue-on bails. I beli...

Re: is this normal? (fired paint)
I'm using the hi-def screen from ezscreenprint.
I might just order some of that flux and give it a try also.
Mike Jordan, how did you apply your paint? brush, foam thing, etc?

Re: is this normal? (fired paint)
Thanks everyone for your replies! I fired it to a full use, just the same schedule I pretty much use for everything else 14?? degrees. This is my first real experience working with paint. I also did not cap it, I did this on top of an already "finished" piece. I used a little foam applicat...

is this normal? (fired paint)
I used Kaiser black paint with a screen to put my image on the glass, it looked beautiful...crisp, dark, perfect. After firing though, it looks "faded", kind of transparent, which makes it look a little fuzzy. Is this normal? Is there a way to fix this or prevent this from happening again ...

Re: Adding cremains to already fused piece?
Yes, I added a small bit of cremains to a pendant of my beloved dog that died a few months ago.

Re: Adding cremains to already fused piece?
I am going to post my personal findings from my experiment in case anyone else is ever interested. First, as stated above, I painted a heart with glassline on a dichroic pendant and added a single piece of cremain in the middle, let it dry then fired it. The result: The creamain piece did not get fu...

Adding cremains to already fused piece?
Does anyone here have experience with adding cremains to already fused pieces? I got ahead of myself and went ahead and painted a heart with glassline on the front of a pendant, then stuck one individual piece of some cremains in the middle of the heart, then put a small dab of the glassline paint o...

Re: Printer questions for decals
I have not purchased a printer, as I understand that all they will produce are sepia decals, and I do not want that.

Re: Printer questions for decals
What would be the easiest way to acquire this kind of enamel? Are there brand names or online stores you can suggest? (Is Glassline paint vitreous enamel?) I'm not quite sure how to get started on finding this stuff. BTW, thanks so much for your help! Is this the kind of enamel that people make my m...

Re: Printer questions for decals
I see...so the method of applying my text and images with those homemade "stencils" is fine, but I need to use a different kind of paint and fire it to be permanent, and the paint you recommend is what you suggested in the earlier post. Correct?

If I understand correctly, this paint is air-dry, BUT you can put it in the oven at a low temp.

Re: Printer questions for decals
I found these videos on youtube, it doesn't seem to hard to do and I should be able to do it with photos and texts, which is what I'm looking for, and different colors also. The way this guy does it, it appears there wouldn't be any firings after application. There are two videos, one showing how he...
