I was just in Fl and visited Petra Kaiser's studio. She said that if a piece of KL board is placed on another it will not move. If you are unsure about that, stick a few pieces of stainless steel wire thru both pieces, pinning it in place. The glass should not stick to the board, but to be safe I wo...

There is a fire brick collar out there for the quick fire and the evenheat kilns. Put a layer of thick fiber paper around the edge of the kiln floor (where the top would rest), place the collar, more fiber paper on top, then a square of hardware cloth. The pot sits on the hardware cloth. Put your ki...

If the silver is scratched, you will have to buff with a rouge and a dremel or foredom. If it is just oxidized, I use Never Dull. You can get it at a hardware store. It is a cotton wadding with a polish solution already in it. And no matter what you do, don't forget to wash with soap and water after...

Shasta, I was just reading in the latest issue of Ornament magazine about a fuser in hawaii using moretti rods fused into sheet. Clear moretti rods are known to have some scum sometimes. She soaks her rods in Drano for 24 hrs and then stores them in full strength vinegar to keep them clean. I'm tryi...

Work of Proto-Art in the Age of Symbiotic Reproduction The matrix creates, the chaos permeates. In the material reality, art objects are reproductions of the imaginations of the matrix -- a matrix that uses the chaos as a parallax to enmesh ideas, patterns, and emotions. With the synergy of the ele...

Knitting needles make good, long dowels to wind wire on for jump rings. Lots of different sizes. Just put the pointed end in the chuck of a drill, stick the wire in between the teeth of the chuck and guide the wire with one hand, while holding the drill with the other hand on a table, chair arm, etc...

I went to a demo on Kaiser-Lee board at Vitrum studio. Petra, one of the distributors, has used K-L board for her kiln shelf for 7 years and never has had a problem. A little spendy, but worth it. Check it out.

Well this will be my first post on this board. Finally got the sign up to work. Susan, The best time a patent will work for you is when it is in the pending stage. All the paperwork you have to file is only seen by the patent office and lawyers. Once a patent is granted, all paperwork and drawings a...
