There has been a lot of discussion about mold cracking here. My theory is that the molds crack either from stress- i. e. not strong enough molds to hold the glass (which does not sound like yours) -OR- that the molds are not dry when you fire them. Jerre- An artist I studied with, Ruth Brockmann, uses a 5-2-2 mold formula that produces a good finish. First of all- what kind of mold material are you using?? Some of the issues can be in the mold material. Hi Rodney- I would recommend you only doing casting on one level ( ie- dont stack the molds onto different platforms) but fit as many as you can as long as they arent touching.
