Like we'd charge hundreds of dollars for a bread basket, or a soup bowl.
I like the stand you've got that shows the piece with a tilt! I need one or two like that.

Re: Devitrification experiment... success!!
... I almost hate to throw the piece in the garbage. Why throw it away? I'm with you, I like the silvery affect AND the shape. It's a keeper if you ask me. Surely you know someone who'd love to receive as a gift, it at the verrrrrry least! And of course, you remember my birthday is right around the...

kiln carving usually implies full-fusing. Are you planning on full fusing the piece? You'll lose your bevel, your temper and it'll probably start pulling in since it's only 3mm thick... also, you'll have to control the devit. Tony Thanks for your input and observation. It's wonderful having someone...

need kiln carve schedule
I chanced on to a beauty: bronze tempered beveled edged glass that I want to kiln carve for a window panel. It's 3mm 18"x34". Will be placed on a sand-covered fiberboard bottom of a brick lined kiln (just because it is). Side and top elements. Searching the archives for a good rule of thum...

Barbara, now you know why it was given to you  I think I bought the same one you're talking about. It's been years since I've seen either the mold or the slumped pieces that I made. At least I had a pattern of sorts, but I never figured out the assembly or how it should look when complete. I bo...

Re: Switching to 6-30 plug for kiln
Can we use 220 extension cords from the air conditioning area to the kiln area instead? Thanks -Stephanie the manual with my kiln says not to use on an extension cord. I'm inclined to believe that. Seeing the power cord that is on my kiln, wouldn't want to plug that one into an extension cord. I ag...

I did contact evenheat after the 3rd fireing. They never responded. That's why I love this board. If it weren't for some of you folks out there who have had similar experiences and care to share, I would never have known that it's perfectly ok to have 'wings'.... When the manufacturer don't r...

unless the look you are going for is shards of glass stuck together (probably devitrified). Those were my results every time I tried with every method I could come up with. ](*,) Not trying to discourage you; I'd love it if you made it work and would tell me how simple it was so I could slap my hea...
