The design of the tiger in your tiger piece is very interesting. My designs are still more modern or stylized; I admit I'm afraid of realism, because I don't know if I could pull it off. I'm sure this will change as my work matures. Did you design the tiger yourself, or did you find a pattern?

<<Sharpie has new (new to me, but I don't get out much) 'industrial strength' black markers that hold up pretty well in the saw if they have set for a few minutes.>> No kidding! I use a regular Sharpie for the grinder work, and it washes away. And it doens't like to mark if the glass is still a litt...

Thank you for your reply.... I'm wondering, are there any advantages to having a space, a pocket of air between the original window and a glass piece being installed? Putting a spacer between the original window and the work, and then the outside spacer designed to keep the work in place? Just wonde...

I'm still working in leaded glass and copper foil (2D), but fusing is right around the corner. Here's my current project (scroll down a bit): http://www.warmglass.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2247 Basically, dis-assembling a fireplace screen and fixing the middle panel solidly to the window casement, h...

<<if you just rest the frame against the existing casing and window, and add additional framing (i use quarter round, stained to match the existing casement), you don't need to fasten the panel to anything.>> I was thinking about that, too, becaue it's the easiest and doesn't require anything beyond...

Thank you, Charlie The idea is to keep the frame (unhinged) as it is, but figure out a way of suspending it in the window in a solid way (not just from chain). Unfortunately I can't sketch what I'm thinking of for you, all i have at my disposal is a keyboard ;/ One thought was to fabricate four ring...

THank you for your input! I hear you re: having the fireplace screen in front of an actual fire. I made sure the buyer understood that the screen was art, not a functional piece.... but suddenly this will no longer be an issue: I was at their house last night to discuss doing a piece for their bathr...

Rejuvenating this thread....
Hi everybody...I work in leaded glass and copper foil, not in warm glass (yet). This board seems to have the best, most responsive group of participants, so I'll ask here: I'm visiting the home of my first commission tonight. This family bought this screen from me at auction: http://f1.pg.photos.yah...
