Thanks for the replies. I have a 7" tile saw already with good blade.
Wanted a small tile saw for straight cuts and some angles, but
convenient to set up and use in a pinch. Will probably take back the .012 kerf
blade and get a good .20 kerf from Rio Grande.

Bought a 4" diamond blade at Lonnie's in Phoenix with a .012 kerf.
Seems pretty thin to cut fused glass pieces. Is there a better size kerf
to stick with instead of the .012. Have looked into the MK 303 4"

How well has the gas shock lifters on clamshell held up? Has anyone had problems with them? Curious.... admirer of the clamshell design.
Also, very tired of heavy lids that have cranky hinges.

Couple of different solutions that can be used: Use a fibrefax Or kaowool banket over the top of the kiln during firing to reduce the flow of heat upwards and better yet...invest in a orton vent system that will take fumes outside as well as keep the heat down a bit more.
