hello all- the question is...why do my pieces end up with shiny contact marks from the mold? am I overslumping? it seem that i either have a well defined shape with glossy spots at corners etc, or a well intentioned not quite "there" piece . I actually like the matte underside and the shin...

my pea brain asks, why use stringers? what if you made something like an interior dam? Plaster or what ever mold material would work. the dams would be the shape of the intended color areas and the spaces between (which would have been stringer) are filled with fine frit or powder to create walls to...

I was thinking that cut outs and stringers were the next step. But I needed to ask about paints because the kids had been painting water based bio-safety paints on ceramic tile with amazing but temporary
results.

anyone have any suggestions for a non-toxic, or relatively so glass paint
for a gaggle of four year olds? I'm prepared to fire the resulting tiles.
