Hi Bert, Thanks for the suggestion! I looked up Ron Coleman's work - the Red Treasure is lovely! I may try a number of these ideas. For joining the maze to the base, I'd imagine hxtal would be the adhesive. Is there a brand name for low temperatre flux that I might search for, or a formula for it's ...

Hi Els - That sounds like a great idea! My fusing experience so far is quite limited - I've only fused flat float glass on a standard shelf. I have not used fiber paper before. I think I can picture what you are talking about - and I'd love to try - it seems like it could deliver the sort of organic...

New to fusing - seek advice on sharper edges.
Hi folks, I'm new to fusing and working on an interactive glass project. If you recall a child's game of a maze mounted in a box throuh whihc you attempt to navigate a marble around a series of holes by turning two nobs, imagine this with water and glass and copper inclusions. Since I am using water...

Hi Cynthia, Thanks! I was very happy with the results with the copper. I'm doing another run today - and hope that the results will be as good. I'm using copper plate, rather than leaf, since I need it to conduct electricity. I think that the broad surface under the glass allowed the colors to devel...

Thank you, Brock. ^_^ To the list, I'm working on building custom electronic compenents - kind of a hand-made computer/circuit - that reveal the beauty of the materials, not only the function. Can any of you more experienced artists think of anyone exploring similar ideas - in glass or in other medi...

Hi Brock, Thank you for the reply - and the tweaked schedule! I appreciate the help. The piece I am firing is larger than the small tiles in my first studies. It will be about 8.5 inches by 7 inches, but still two layers with copper between. Does the larger size suggest a longer firing time? Best, T...

New to fusing - question about firing schedule
Hi folks. I'm new to fusing, and a student in a school without a glass program. I'm working on a project for which fusing seems the best method, and have time in a small annealer coming up. I previously did a successful tack fuse of float glass and copper plate, but neglected to keep a copy of my fi...
