Kathie, Yes, it's the Pearl Ex at Michael's. I got mine with the Sunday coupon for 50% off. I think every Sunday they have a coupon for at least 40% off. The box with 12 colors is $25.00. The one you saw had the Pearl Ex mixed with FuseMaster glue painted on the copper before I sprayed the Borax ont...

Charlie, Thanks for your quick reply. If that's the case, why were two previous firings successful? When I have a successful outcome, I try loading one kiln with the fusing and after that shift it to the kiln where I had the successful slumping. Sort of like once I get it right I'd better stay on a ...

Gave another try with the 1 ml copper. This time I sprayed it with Borax after I had put the Pearl Ex on the copper. This is the final result. What matters is that my customer was happy, bought it and wants more. I'm experimenting with the heavier copper from Michael's now. Took the Scotch Brite pad...

My glass cracked
I've been playing around with pattern bars and had two successful fusings and slumpings using the following schedule: Fusing: 250 to 1000 150 to 1250 400 to 1400 hold 20 minutes 999 to 955 hold 90 minutes (forgot to put my normal 150 to 750) Slumping 200 to 1170 hold 20 minutes 999 to 955 hold 90 mi...

Isabella, Aren't you going to fire these pendants again to fire polish the edges? If so, the little dings should disappear. Be sure you clean the edges well with a toothbrush. When I have to reshape dichroic pendants using my grinder, I paint the edges with Super Spray before the next firing. When I...

I'm not familiar with your kiln, but in mine I never fire Spectrum to 1500. If you don't have needles around the edges of your glass then I guess 1500 is good for your kiln. Many people have posted on the board regarding slowing down from around 1100 to 1300 (150dph) and that may eliminate some of y...
