It's 50-ish and rain here too. The only snow is the remnants of the 3 ft deep snowbanks from the snows we had earlier in the month... no great loss. I can live without the snow and the slush... even on Christmas... not very sentimental I guess. No new glass or glass toys for Christmas... I'm gonna h...

Re: Sterling Silver Rings
Recently I purchased a dozen of Jim Berry's sterling silver rings onto which you can attach a cab. Question: Those of you who are also making these rings, what type of epoxy are you using? :?: I've made up about 6 just to see how the two-part epoxy I'm using is going to hold up. I'd hate to take th...

Re: A different credit question
Hi All, Just finished my last show of the season this weekend! I felt so free until Andrea, my wet-blanket-14-year-old, suggested I see this as a job loss! Anyway, my question is; how long do you hang on to your credit receipts? I can't imagine a chargeback after more than a month or two, but I'd r...

Re: Anyone have experience with combing?
I tried to comb some hot glass a few minutes ago. It did not work as I had hoped, and I have a burned finger as a result. I let the glass get to a red hot molten state, and then put on my safety glasses and a heat glove, and went after the glass with an old unbent coathanger. (pretty primitive, I k...

Re: Dymax
Try http://www.dymax.com. When dymax works, it is a solid bond. It can be tricky to use. The accelerator needs to be applied in a very thin coat and then allowed to dry. Then light clamping (I use clothes pins) for a couple of hours. AJW interesting, when i use it to adhere ss earing posts to the b...

Re: suitable wire for use with fused glass?
Hi there.. I need to get hold of a large amount of wire suitable for inserting into fused work. The sort that doesn't discolour. I need to know what the composition of this stuff is - I think maybe it's silver plated, but that's as much as I know, which isn't a lot! Then I have to find out where to...

It's not critical on small work, although I have seen shelf/air bubbles in as small an area as 50 sq. inches. Got one the other day on a piece that was 3 1/2 inches square. That's 12.25 square inches. And the shelf had been fired once before. I didn't think that was possible. Just for the record, i...
