glass shrinkage
Hi
I have to fuse one layer of glass - 3mm. I know that there will be some shrinkage. I want that the final piece to be 8.3X7.5 in. Is there any formula that I can use to calculate the size of the original glass? Is it linear, or the shrinkade depends upon the area?
Thanks
Luiza

Re: Logo or Signature with Oven Cured Glass Paints?
Has anyone tried any of the Craft Oven Cured Glass Paints on finished pieces of their own glass works? My glassware is for decorative purposes only. Thanks to all that respond. :D I use this kind of paints for my jewelry pieces. You can´t use them if they will be used with something hot, like asht...

Re: Fusing 3/8 float glass
Luiza I fuse 2 layers of 10mm all the time. Only once did I try a dam and it killed me. The glass hit the dam and curled up then shrunk back and became too small. I often make the top piece larger than the bottom by it's thickness which makes a rolled edge. The edge is especially good on the circle...

Fusing 3/8 float glass
Hi
I´m having problems to full fuse two layers of 3/8 in float glass. I know I have to do some kind of dam, but I can´t figure how.
I need to fuse two square layers 18x18 in, and two circular ones, 16 in diameter .
Thanks for any advice

Hi Bex I have made a wonderfull fountain for my bedroom. Not too big, but give us that delicious water sound and happy dreams... It´s really easy, all you need is an aquarium pump (you have to decide the height of your fountain, and someone at the store will help you with the right pump - you won´...

Re: More Rocks
I read all I could find about casting/draping/encasing rocks and wasn't happy with any of it. So I've put together a process that works well and answered the question; YES, you can cast/drape/encase rocks. Pictures available via email; I haven't figured out how to post one on this board yet. Luiza, I'm sure that in Brazil there are many tile shoppes and tile installers. Go visit one of them and ask about their saws. I'm sure you will find that they have a saw similar to what I posted earlier. Take a look at http://www.felkersaws.com/new_TM75.shtml Felker is a manufacturer of tile saws ...

I talked to some persons that use tile saws, but all use the hand held type. Thanks vert, very much for your time and pa...

Hi Tony
The site I could find that shows a similar one is
http://www.dewalt.com.br/products/Cata/ ... dID=DW861B
The saws I found here are for granite and other stones cut. It´s not ok?
Thanks a lot for your patience.
