Do you use an accounting software (quickbooks etc)? Sometimes the upgraded version will have that feature.

G-12 cullet info needed, source
Somewhere in one of the threads, that I cannot find, someone posted a possible original source for Gabbert G-12. A factory in Pa, somewhere. Can I get that name again?
Thanks

Interesting side effect
Something I found in my last casting run. The actual flower pots took longer to melt than the Mixing bowl pressed into use. Dohh. Probably has something to do with heat transfer... Dohh. But it was not something that I had thought of before. I DID avoid having the bowl contact the elemnets. Thought ...

Oh just another small note about commisions, especially if this client is serious. Make sure to define and acceptable RANGE. Even if you're really good, there may be some difference in the pieces. You/and they need to know that. And price wise, if nothing short of perfect is acceptable, then you nee...

I was in a similar situation when desiging my T shirts. I found an artist I liked (who made similar shirts), we emailed back and forth on the design, then she made the shirts. My sole contribution was details that were needed to make the fish look like Koi, and approving the design. At the end I ask...

Philosophically, I always have liked quick raises. For instance, pay what it takes to get them to show up. Then if they prove worthy, give them a $0.25/hr. Sometimes that's the next day. I've had employees who got $1/hr in less than a month. You must figure out the max you CAN pay, and still make mo...

My current experiment on IN kiln drying has been an OK success. There is some cracking in the molds, but since I had them at 1500, for 1-2 DAYS, and repeated that process 3 times (for this batch) I guess that's understandable. If you haven't been following, these are the molds, that I put a box fan ...

Yes, you've got it. Plaster silica is good for 1 count'em 1 heating and cooling cycle. Air dry, take it slow through the 180degF range (water burnoff) then you can speed up the firing. It can be tricky, but not quite rocket science. You will/may get cracks that give you flashing, esp if you go up to...

two other tips come to mind. Hydrocal may be too hard. Pottery plaster is fine. Drying; I discovered a patient way to do it (find out tommorrow how well it works). I loaded the kiln, then suspended a box fan over the top, on low, for a day or so. According to smell, it worked pretty well. You also m...

Sounds good. I'm using a wallpaper steamer(minus the large pad) for steaming, works great. Another drying tip (though the molds are still in). Go ahead and load the kiln. Put a window fan, on LOW, over the top,Pointing IN, for as long as you can stand it. Good drying juju. But my molds are heavy and...

See and Raise you Tony, Design Ownership
I'll give you 2 examples; Chihuly Macchia series. I use this because most of you have seen one or more. These are the frilly nested bowls with a pebbled color finish and wraps. Almost any proficient glassblower can make these pieces. Not quite simple, but not very very hard. For this I have an answe...
