Drop below 750 seems way too fast. 320dph from 750 to 130 means your cool down is 2 hours - give or take. I would suggest you slow to 150 dph - I usually allow cooling overnight from that point - 6 to 8 hours for that thickness. Good luck!

I bought a couple of dragonflys locally that are amazing - 90 coe, roughly 1/1/2" body and 1 1/2 inch wingspan, dichroic on black - many colours. Look like they are water jet cut. If you can't find locally I can give Canadian Source.

My pet peeve in working with glass is mold availability (shapes, etc.) After reading for over a year it suddenly dawned on me to ask the question - When you say pour in plaster, does the plaster need to be fired, as would a clay, greenware, etc. before being used as a mold, or can it be used as is on...

I would agree with the slower, but also advise lower. Depending on the depth of the slump and the thickness of the glass, you should be able to slump the piece at 1225-1250 probably with the same 30 minute (or less) soak.

Photos embedded in Glass

I have seen photos which seem to have been etched (or sandcarved) in glass. The ones I have seen were 2 or 3 different pictures, each at a dirfferent height and different depth within the glass which was clear and in the shape of a paperweight - oval, perhaps 7" tall and 4" thick at its wi...

Hi Colin - I couldn't remember paying a handling fee so went to check on their website. for some reason, they charge a handling fee for "mail" being pacakages sent by US post. I had my package shipped by Fedex and there was no $20 handling.

Hi Brenda - you mention Bullseye 1401 and 1501 which I see on the Bullseye site in the $5-$6 range per pound for minimum 40lbs. I bought some Uroboros cullett from CRLoo (U-CUL-CLR) . It is $1.90 / lb, can be bought in single pounds, with reduced pricing on quantity. It's 90COE, very clear (no tint)...
