Would you suggest a book on the use of PMC. Have just ordered some and am afraid to use it. Am I just cheap?

Could I get any suggestions on the use of mandrels? I've had trouble with them moving as the glass starts to move, thus not creating a straight line. Reading the archives, it suggested mixing flux with copper oxide. In what proportions? Someone also suggested using borax to brighten the color. Guess this is another proportion
