I have been an avid user of Klyr Fire for over two years. It works great between layers and holds stringer and frit well, but not well enough to be turned upside down, until dry. If you want to be able to flip it upside down, sort of like a tack fuse without the fusing, try Krazy Glue. It works wond...

rail mounting for wall sculpture

Hello everyone, I am looking for some help locating a picture I saw before of a beautiful wall mounting. It was a mounting of some flat pieces of glass hung vertically under a horizontal rail system. Think closet door for the railing type piece. The rail was only on the top, and the pieces hung from...

Kelly - I too went through what you are going through. I initially set up a merchant account through my bank wells fargo, but since I used my terminal so infrequently it usually ended up costing me about $50 to $60 per month. I had a terminal that I rented and dialed up after I got home, and primari...

CR&Loo also carries larger sheets of float relatively cheap. Check with your local glass shop, the place that sells shower doors and windows. They often sell float very cheap in nice big sheets, and will cut it down for you. Many will also give you scraps for free. Have fun!! Aimee aka Anea

Here is the final verdict everyone. It finally cooled enough for me to open the kiln. The holes were further away then I thought. But the way the glass cracked was directly on line with where the tiny bit of deep yellow was. Apparently it must have been the part that changed COE. On one side it crac...

This piece waws being fired its fourth time. It cracked on the way up as I looked at it when it was at its highest temp during the slump and it had not begun to come down yet. The annealing schedule was the same for each firing and I went up at only 50 dph to 1100 and then if I was full fusing 100 d...

Large bowl woes continue!!!

It is about 5:00 am over here in California. Does everybody remember that lovely20" round tile bowl that bubbled on the slump in the ball surface mold from bullseye? Well I woke up at this very early hour to check on that piece when it would be at its peak temp for slumping 1130, and it has two...

Martycom -- I just completed, though with some bubbling problems on the slump (that have now been flattened and is re-slumping now with more holes in the mold) a 20" round piece. It had two layers of clear as a base (UB glass) and tiles stacked up as many as five layers on top. It varied. I had...

Lynda-

This was the second or third firing in that mold actually. I had no problems with the previous firings either, just this one. Hope this info helps to solve your mystery.

Okay...I have good news. The piece is just now beginning to cool down and head for annealing, and it is completely flat!!! WOO-HOO!!! Thanks to everyone for all the advice, it worked and my piece is saved. We drilled the extra holes into the mold last night, so it should make it through the slump ag...

Couple of big bubbles during slump

Okay, I did a large tile platter (the ones where you stack up glass tiles, slowly getting smaller, ranging from 4-5 layers of tiling). It had a 20" round base of two pieces of clear and then the many tiles were on it. Made it through the fusing fine, decided to sandblast the front of the piece ...

Tumblers?

I am interested in tumbling some large cabachons that have sterling silver findings on them. The SS is between layers of glass and sticks out at the top as a necklace bail. I understand that many people tumble their glass and SS to get a nice polish to the silver and am wanting to do the same. I kno...

Mine says:

Nice to look at nice to hold but if your break it please condsider it sold.

I always get great comments about it from customers ... they appreciate it and think it is well put.

BIG Pattern Bar Schedule Please

Hello everyone: I am interested in making a large pattern bar today and was hoping to get a little help with the firing schedule. I can only seem to locate schedules for smaller bars in my notes. I want to do a pattern bar that is about 10" x12" and about 1" or 1 1/2" thick. I h...
