Pattern Bar Piece help plz
question- when one uses a saw on a pattern bar, the surface is left milky from the saw. I have a lot of clear in this particular pattern bar and I did a fuse the other day which failed for another reason. (volume control) What I didn't count on was the clear areas still retain some of that milky loo...

In case noone has told you this before, be sure to turn your kiln OFF when you're combing, or anytime you're working in the kiln with metal. Otherwise....~zap~.... no more Molly queries.

Nova Kiln- for molds
Has anyone ever heard of/used these kilns? They appear to have a fiber-like interior? The seller tells me this is the "new stuff" they use on kilns instead of fire brick. I'm looking to buy it for my DH, for his ceramic needs. (and mine!) Any input on them would be greatly appreciated.

Fusing with Spectrum regular baroque
Ok..I've been trying the baroque for a drop ring. First one I figured I'd use one full circle and use smaller pieces of the same sheet on top to make up the second thickness. It looked rather good when all put together, ie: the lines were well placed and all. Ok.. fused them together... disaster. De...

AHH! Thanks very much! Silly me, I didn't even CHECK to see what side was up. it MUST have had the coated side up because it did indeed obscure everything below. So.. you use it coated side down, on top of your elements and it does allow you to see through? There's probably my bigget problem, I have...

CBS Violet
A little while ago, one of you posted that you used CBS Violet in your dichro cabs to give them depth. I purchased some on that reccomendation, but perhaps I'm using it wrong. What I did was lay all my little pieces in the kiln and then put a piece of the violet over it all. It just obscured it for ...

Ok..maybe I'm the one who's thick here but I too want to make a drop ring vase with my new BE mold. It's about a 5 inch diameter middle and I was hoping to make it drop ohhh say about 6 inches or so. Following your instructions here, I'll set up the thicknesses of glass and fuse them, but how do I K...

Thanks for that tidbit on using warm water, I'd never seen that before. How would you compare your method to using a sprayer? I've recently had some horrible failures with a kiln wash I bought down in Gardena. Up until then, I'd always used HotFire and found it to be great. This new stuff just "...

Michael's stores are liquidating their stock of Azteks and selling them off at $40. One girl says she even got an additional price reduction at the counter and ended up with a $20.00 price tag. I got mine for $40.00 last week. Scoot out to your local Michael's and be sure they look in the back room....
