That's great--very clear. Obviously you don't get it powder coated with the glass on there so what did you use to test mount the pieces onto the frame? Do you mount it with silicone for the final assembly? I've used silicone and found it to be reliable but so far its been on a big surface area and y...

I'm getting the impression its only for pieces that are full fused--not for anything sintered or in between sintering and full fuse. I mean at what temp. does its edges soften? If the only benefit is that it doesn't bleed--that isn't an issue in anything less than full fuse. -A P.S.Why will it be le...

Stiff Black
Just got my BE catalog today (finally). After going through it about 10 times I was actually able to settle down and really look at everything. Since I have a fondness for black and white pieces I was very interested in the new Stiff Black available. I'm wondering if anyone has used it yet and if so...

C'mon you chicken. I can think of an opposite for you. SMALL! S...m...a...l...l... I'm unfamiliar with this term. Do you mean something less than 2 feet? That's crazy talk Mister...I don't think that can be done! In my defense I will say only this... Cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck....cluck. Amy P.S. Ba...

Amy- selling to another artist is an entirely different transaction. And most of those Chihuly buyers did indeed get a discount from the galleries, which is the root of the problem. Are his prices inflated? Most likely, and part of the equation is the discount. About final control of the retail pri...

Hey Marty may I have a fellow artist discount? I'd like to start collecting your work! No, no, no--why does having a Chihuly mean that they should pay less? It should mean that they pay more!! Your work is too good to be discounted and if they can afford to collect big name glass then they ca...

Oh Jackie I so needed to read this this morning. I'm assembling a complicated piece at the moment and for some reason everytime I get to the last stages of a piece I'm disappointed in it. Even if it came out just as I wanted I start finding flaws or worries about it. Here's the kicker--my work is qu...

If I were you I would wish someone had said something from a previous class so that I was saved the money and bad experience. You will be doing a lot of people a favor by speaking up--make sure to let them know that this wasn't just your experience. Try to get your friend at least, if not others, to...

..... Probably a result of spending the day in my studio tying many, many, many little knots (don't ask). Amy I am becoming convinced that if you weren't trying to get a repetitive motion injury, you wouldn't feel whole! Well, okay, I exaggerate a little. But seriously, you do do a lot of th...
