It may look ok at the moment but it is only tacked together at 1350 and will probably crack eventually.

I would use a whole sheet of wood for the top which would be 4 ' by 8' if you have the room. (don't they always say bigger is better :lol: ) The height would depend somewhat on how tall you are......

What a shame......it was beautiful! I would have fired this 100 degrees an hour up to at least 800. At that point I do not worry a thick piece cracking. I think the increase was just too fast. I do up to 6 shelves in one of my skutts. I always use at least 6" between shelves. That lets a lot of heat circulate and adds a tremendous amount of production. I do not, however, do large pieces this way as the edges will seal before all the air escapes in a bubble squeeze on sandwiched shelv...

Here is a set of pattern bars that were made of old bullseye pattern bars that I was not crazy about. pic is of 4 sets of them after I had done the "flow" in one of our stainless steel rings. Having way to much fun here! This one sold right out of the slump still warm! image.jpg image.jpg

sure...if you like the bottom as the top. Keep in mind that when you turn the gloss side down and refuse it will then become matt.

Eryc..... First.....you will always have a "matt" surface that is on the back of your glass when you use shelf paper. I noticed on the side view of your glass it seems to have a sharp edge. Before you slump you need to use a grinder with a fine bit to get those scratched minimized and soft...
