Re: mold
Look in the "Yellow Pages" for machine shops near you. They can tell you if they can do what you need. Shop Locally when you can!

Re: is spray A dangerous?
Good questions, good responses.
for some Spray-A MSDS-type info from Slumpy's site, see: https://system.na3.netsuite.com/core/me ... 9&_xt=.pdf
Seems like the seller should have info for prospective users to read before buying.

Is the Bullseye fiber paper reusable?
When I read "fiber" and think about carving, I envision fibers getting in the way of fine details and material removal.

Re: stencils for sanblasting - photoresist or vinyl cutter
.1 millimeter (or millimeter?) is about .004 inch. I know many folks don't like Wiki, but here's a pretty good definition of "mil" from them: A thousandth of an inch is a derived unit of length in an inch-based system of units. Equal to 0.001 inches, it is normally referred to as a thou /ˈ...

Re: 1/4" granite textured clear glass?
I suggest contacting any "clear glass" shops or hardware stores in your area, too. Especially the older ones as that new Rocky's or HD/Loew's aren't good bets. Also, larger glass studios may have something like that. Would your customer accept something between 1/8 & 1/4? How much do y...

Re: Copper foil supplier
Admiral Metals (formerly Admiral Brass & Copper) might be worth a look if you want "industrial" shim stock. Both machine shops i worked for used them as a supplier when needed.

Re: Homeowners' Insurance
I believe that most communities have a requirement that kilns, just like wood stoves, must pass inspections based on local codes. I have heard that 110 volt kiln installations may not need to be inspected - your local electrical, building or fire inspector will know for sure. The certificate you get...

I mixed Reusche's tracing black (and others - didn't seem to matter) with squeegee oil from Ulano, but I'd guess that there are many suppliers of screening media.

Re: Lamp worked rondels and other 2D forms
I guess it's cheating, but I've used feet from thrift store goblets several times. You can fire polish the cut portion in a kiln when needed. Of course, you don't get the dynamic swirls of a hand made rondel but they're mighty cheap!

Re: "Pebbles"....making yourself ?
You can make nuggets/pebbles from any glass you have on hand and in any size you wish... pretty much. I think the choice of separator must be important since I've seen so much discussion about cleaning the bottoms. 'Back in the day' I just put a piece or a small stack of pieces on the shelf & fi...

Re: Removing unwanted GE Silicone II
I find that there are two issues with removing silicone. First, it's sticky and seems to re-stick when scraped off. Second, it's nearly invisible and becomes more so when scraped a bit. So, in addition to the razor, I dust with whiting lightly to prevent re-sticking and sort of highlight the residue...
