There were many noteable contributers in those early days and Brock's comments were always interesting. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: Making your own decals
I use a HP Laserjet printer and have been successful through a couple iterations of toner cartridges. Keep in mind the transfer of the decal you make will be sepia, not black.

Re: Books Lundstrom
I recall that the Universal Mold Release involved mixing something with common house paint. It could be coated directly over bowls, etc. that were already glazed such as plated or bowls you may already have. Don't remember what the "something" was.

Re: pate de verre-ish
Thanks Kevin. I assume you're cautioning me to keep the temp. low enough to avoid a puddle at the bottom of the pot. I enjoyed revisiting the posts in the archives and was amused to find one of my own in that group.

pate de verre-ish
Is it possible to make a small bowl in a kiln washed mold by pressing glass powder "paste" into the inside surface and tack firing? It seems reasonable as that is a method used for making the "ice bowls" from tempered glass bits. There must be some cosmic force thing I don't reco...

Re: metal panels
Dana, Did their cutting method leave smooth edges? That is a concern I had about going to metal shop.

metal panels
Is there an online resource for metal panels used for mounting glass for wall hanging? I see Hang Your Glass has some "coming soon". If I knew a local metalworker he/she would already be my best friend.

Dana, Thank you. Your piece is beautiful and quite spiritual. The clear glass in between enhances the dreamy quality. BTW, I often visit your site and learn something each time.

Re: Drilling holes in stone
Thanks Brad and Marty. I have a drill but thought I'd have to have a drill press to keep the hole true vertical. I'll give it a try on a piece of scrap stone. Then i'll probably go see a professional.

Drilling holes in stone
I want to use a piece of stone (probably marble) as a base for a glass landscape. I will need to drill holes to hold the supports but don't have the equipment to do that. What type of store/shop could I approach to do that for me? Display method is always the stumbling block for me. Learning to weld...

Easy Fire enamels
Is there any difference between Fusemaster high fire opaque enamels and the (new to me) Easy Fire enamels? Also what is the deal with Colors for Earth? Are they re-branded ceramic undercoat glaze? I got distracted from glass work for a couple of years and now have all these new choices to deal with....

Paul Tarlow (Helios Glass) shows how to do this in one of his excellent e-books. This particular e-book is called Creative Draping. http://fusedglassbooks.com/

Ohhhh. I get so excited when I see a new post in the photos. The shell is so beautiful. Great combination of smooth and rough. The depth of color is outstanding. I hope you'll post more of these.
