:( I am interested in the responses to this posting, as I have made one wall sconce, using a BE mold. The glass turned out great, but now I can't figure out how to attach it and get it ready electrically to attach it to the wall. BE sells the hardware, but it is $90 a piece! If anyone has any ideas,...

slumping a sconce,help!

I am going to try and slump my fused glass onto my sconce mold, which measures 10.5" x 12 3/4" . Can anyone help with a firing schedule? I'm new to using my computerized Orton controller, and am unsure what to do. My controller is the 3 key Orton, Jen Ken kiln. Also, any help for a tack fu...

move on up!!!

Read your post about your "little" kiln. i also have a small Aim kiln that I love for jewelry. I just sold my 14" Evenheat, and got a 24" Jen Ken. I was wary about getting a larger kiln, but now I'm glad I did. It's 11' tall, and the shelf is a wonderful 22" wide. Think of t...

Jen Ken kiln

I had a previous post about how to work the computerized controller on my new kiln. Just to clarify, I have the Orton controller, 3 key, not the 12. Any help will be apreciated. Also, now that i can make larger projects, where is a good place to order glass from, and what size should I get. I am loo...

fused glass rings

I hope there are some jewelry fusers out there who can help. I'm trying my hand at making some fused rings, after buying one, and getting many compliments. My ring has an adjustable band, and now I can't seem to find anyplace that makes some for me to put my glass on! Any ideas?
Thanks,
Vickie

help with Jen-Ken kiln

I just received my new Jen-Ken kiln. It has an Orton controller. This is my first kiln with this "fancy" computerized stuff, and I'm lost! The instructions are pretty limited, and I can't quite get it. It LOOKS easy, but one part has 8 steps to setting a firing schedule, and then another p...

bracelets

Hi, I also am making bracelets, and am having fun. I am using the Aim kiln, it's great....heats up so fast etc. I have been using 6'blancks, but have found i need to go a little longer, it seems to shrink a bit once it's fused. So I always go just a little bigger. I'm using BE glass. Hope this helps....

To Char

Char, I am also new to fusing, about 2 years into it...it always gives me new finished projects. I guess I do the hillbily method, which has given me good results about 90% of the time. here's my secret. I Take it to a full fuse, and then vent to about 1100. Then close my kiln and forget about it ti...

wasser glass yucky!

I just bought some beautiful glass from Wasser, called the Water pack, it's pretty blues and greens etc. Once I fused it, let's call it YUCKY glass. It lost all of it's beauty. I tried with clear on the top and bottom...looked pretty much the same. Now I'm stuck with all this glass, and can't even m...

Firesticks

I'm making kiln formed bracelets, and saw a cool thing called "Firesticks" to tack fuse on the fused glass. Paclific Art Glass is the only place I could find that sells them..problem is that they only sell wholesale, and a 250.00 minimum. Has anyone worked with these before, or know where ...
