I have points on the edges of some of my pieces, square plates and fishes. What should I do to eliminate the spikey glass. They are like little needles? :?:

How many shelves can I use to fuse glass in my large skutt

I have a skutt ceramic kiln and am fusing and slumping glass. How many of my kiln shelves can I use to fuse glass and get an even fusing and slumping?
Thanks
