With some other aerosol sprays (such as paint) you have to hold the can upside down and spray until only air comes out after you have used it.
Do you have to clear the tube after spraying MR-97?

Re: Tack fusing freeze n fuse?
Thank you for your suggestions Barry. Now that you mention the glass paint; I remember your mentioning that before. I have your paints and enjoy them. I have not yet tried glass clay. That would be very interesting. Although I like FnF, it has its drawbacks. Barry, I want to thank you for your givin...

Tack fusing freeze n fuse?
I've made a few Freeze n Fuse pieces.
Do you use the same schedule as a normal tack fusing to tack the finished Freeze n Fuse piece onto another piece of glass?
Or do you find that Freeze N Fuse components are more prone to flatten at tack fusing temps than pieces of sheet glass?

Re: Chart for temperature + time = same results
I totally agree, different results for everyone. Even the same brand of kiln with same brand of controller can be different. There is no absolute perfection in glass working. It is an art. But as there charts put out by different manufacturers to go by; Bullseye, Spectrum, Uroboros, all have their s...

Re: Chart for temperature + time = same results
Brock, I've been searching your posts. Long ago you posted a slumping schedule that included 1150F at 60 minutes hold. I copied that down back then, I tried it yesterday, but it didn't quite do it for my small molds. I didn't watch my slump and my finished result has not slumped all the way. So I th...

Chart for temperature + time = same results
I don't know what to call this type of formula/chart. Is there a formula or a chart for holding time + temperature = the same result in glass as a different holding time+ different temp? For example; if I go to 1150F and hold for 60 minutes that produces the same results as 1200F at X minutes hold? ...

System 96 Fusers' Reserve reviews
I've heard that System 96 wants feedback on their Fusers' Reserve packs but don't see where one can post a review on their site. I've emailed them about my preferences but have not heard back yet. I have ordered the Fusers' Reserve a couple of times. The first time I got a beautiful streaky white, o...

Re: LIQUID GLASS................CMC.............Alternatives
Has anyone mentioned Agar? I think that is what it is called, the seaweed?
There was a recipe for that with water on here quite awhile back.

Re: Borax, flip and fire?
That borax is powerful sticking stuff but I never knew it was that powerful. Sorry for you to have to discover it that way. Do people use it on their last fire only if they are going to flip and fire? There are times I flip a couple of times, to even out something or just because I've decided I like...

Borax, flip and fire?
I know that borax sticks to primer.
If borax mix is brushed on the top side of a project and fired. Then the project is flipped onto its top to fire again, will the previously boraxed side stick to primer?

Re: BE kiln wash sticking to glass
Somewhere I read about a sticking problem with a primer. While in its dry powder form they shook it up to redistribute the particles. Something about the settling of the powder caused the sticking problem. Whether that was the only thing they changed; I can't remember. Wouldn't hurt to mix it up esp...

Re: Thin fire on floral form drape
I thought the haze came with anything that was used. Wherever it touched the kiln wash, fiber or anything else. That would be nice to have clear without the haze.

Re: Thin fire on floral form drape
Slightly larger square of Thinfire than the glass or exact size? I'm wondering about it curling up around the edges of the glass if it larger than the glass. On the one that didn't stick, I had a donut-like circle (circle with a hole) of 1/16 fiber on the floral former. I had read somewhere that hav...

Thin fire on floral form drape
I used Universal Mold Coat on two stainless floral formers. Loved the way it easily coated the mold. But glass stuck to one. If I were to use Thinfire over the coated mold, do I fold the thin fire around the floral former making sure it is secure all around? Or can I just lay a square of thinfire fl...

Glass meant for shelves
In my kiln working experience I've only used compatible fusible and some stained glass(by itself). I have someone who wants to sell glass to me that is meant for shelving. They use some type of clips to secure each piece to form clear cubicle type of shelving. It seems to be a bit thicker than stand...

Re: Drill bit opinions?
[quote="when starting with a hand drill be sure to start at an angle and them slowly raise the drill into an upstraight position.[/quote] This seems so strange to me about starting at an angle when one advantage of a drill press is to be able to go straight down. The video I saw also said to st...

Re: Drill bit opinions?
I'll check the sources listed for drill bit options. I'm still leaning towards the hole first method. Sounds better than ruining a finished piece. Even with scrap, if I break it in the beginning stages, I can correct my mistakes and easily start again. I thought more about enlarging a hole with the ...

Re: Drill bit opinions?
Good to know that the more expensive bits seem to be the longer lasting. Are they usually a better, smoother, faster cut? I had not thought about rotating the drill on the drill press. I will have to see if it can do that. I had thought about needing something inside the vase for support. Good idea a...

Re: Drill bit opinions?
I like drill presses; I have a regular size and one for my dremmel. But I don't think my regular one will go high enough to drill a hole in the bottom of a vase shape. It is an inexpensive one from Harbor Freight. I have kept it in one position so long that I've even forgotten how to make it go up. ...
