I'm curious about using Skamol as a kiln shelf. Would like to know what luck Marty Kremer if having with it. Anyone guess how long it would hold up for? Would imagine 18" paper/blanket over the top would be good. Maybe even rolling it (paper) flat after first use to reuse more conveniently.

I'm going to fuse inch thick (three layers) and 18 inches in diameter float glass rounds and am wondering if anyone has suggestions for the best damming materials? Glass will stick to terra cotta - hence the use of glazes. If you don't want the glass to stick to the fired clay it has to be kiln washed.

I cut up the glass scraps in roughly quarter sized pieces and cast them in kiln washed ceramic flower pot drip trays, then slump them into bowls or plates, or include them as prefused elements in fused pieces.
