silk screening questions?
I'm wondering a few things. how long do screens last generally before the emulsion wears off? if using paradise paints how do people clean them? and is using an airbrush really really better than a squeegee or just kinda? thanks for any help in advance! and all the help i've gleaned in the past than...

lissa... do you think even a low tech person, such as myself could learn to make their own. do yours have as much detail as effetre's? can you explain in 4 sentences or less how to or would it take a book. you must compose a design somehow with stringers and then heat up with a torch and stretch to ...

effetre/moretti glass problem
hiya... i work with effetre/moretti glass sheets and certains colours, not all, have like a film layer? on one side. when that side is sandwiched with another layer and fused, it looks, how do i describe it, like there's streaks. if that side is up, it burns off fine. i try to make sure the correct ...

thanks for everyones repsonses. it looks like that area that is out of the groove isn't heating up, its not red when the temperature is ramping up. i presume i need to get the coil element replaced. i don't have a clue as to where or to whom i could get a kiln fixed. an appliance repairer? electrici...

upon further inspection, this is a front loader btw. i see the element coils have come out of the slot there supposed to be tucked in. the coil has contracted and therefore been pulled out. so i'd have to stretch it to get it back in. i don't know if that would harm it, to do so? hope this makes sen...

tried & true firing schedule not working anymore
my perfect firing schedule is failing me. i've been using these times for 6 months, same kiln, same glass, same thickness. the kiln is just over a year old, a paragon. do kilns need to be re-calibrated or something i don't know about. it was quite a sudden change it worked and then suddenly was unde...

side and top elements
i've searched the archives for this but couldn't find a definitive answer.... i'm looking to buy a new kiln. i want a top loading kiln but i'm unsure about whether i should have a top element only or top and side elements. i do small fusing (inch or less) for jewellry and i am concerned the side ele...
