This is good news for glass, lets hope Urobouros is able to take advantage of the same deal.
Just got notice from Bullseye, prices are going up 12.5% or something like that, starting August I believe.
Guess we are all going to pay for it. Still better than no glass at all.
Long live studio glass!

Re: Mixing large amounts of dry plaster and silica
why would you mix that dry? you will never get an even mix so your castings would be un predictable. you slake the proper proportions into water when making molds. the mix happens in the water. r. I disagree, dry mixing will give a better plaster/silica distribution than just scooping both into wat...

Re: Mixing large amounts of dry plaster and silica
depends on what you mean by large amounts? You could use a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a lid and roll it around on the floor. For larger quantities get a cement mixer and fabricate a plywood lid with toggle clamps to hold it on. I have heard it works best if you remove the interior blades from the ...

Re: Best deals on Paragon kilns?
As mentioned Bullseye has a good sale going on, but you have to walk into one of their 4 locations to get the deal. No on line orders. (or so they say) Most of the big online ceramic supply stores will sell a variety of kiln brands including Paragon. Sign up for their mailing list to hear about the ...

Cynthia,
Maybe you just need a side hobby like throwing ceramic mugs (on the potters wheel, not at the wall) lol

Re: What do I put Bullseye transparent frit on?
The COE number of all glass fused into one piece should be the same COE number. Don't mix 90 and 96 in the same piece. Many people say not to mix the same COE from different manufacturers. Your results may vary. Bullseye frit is designed to work with Bullseye fusing sheet glass. Just don't use it wi...

Oh, I know...the new blog is actually not live yet, so you couldn't possibly have seen it. I saw your post right after I'd test-published that review to see if things were working. Got a kick out of the coincidence, too much not to share. Great minds think alike, I guess... ;-) What, what, what!!! ...

Re: Removing glass plug from diamond drill bit
You have to drill those out with smaller 2mm drills they come right out, but then you need to clear the 2mm drill bit so i guess that means 1mm bits. - haha
Cynthia is right, let me know if you figure it out.

Share your water drip techniques and methods
I am starting to grind off the flashing from a kiln cast sculpture using a Foredom hand grinder with diamond burrs. I want to keep the burr wet without working underwater and would like to hear what others have come up with for a water feed drip system. I thought of using an IV bag, or even a 2 gall...
