Re: Removing failed glue from silver finding
I tried Glass Metal &More with dismal results. Stuff is runny, and even after 5 days never set. All the bails came off, and the adhesive just peeled off the glass. Also one has to use it outdoors or in a well ventilated place as the fumes are reported to be very harmful. Best to avoid it. So, it...

Re: Tile saws for cutting glass
Thanks Barry,
I will drop by Home Depot and talk to them about it. Hopefully they will have a diamond saw that can be used for glass cutting and fits the saw I am interested in.

Re: Tile saws for cutting glass
GuyKass. I did check the board about saws, and read them through. However, there was nothing about the particular saw that I was inquiring about. Alma

Tile saws for cutting glass
I have been considering getting a tile saw for cutting my dichroic glass tiles into small pieces in order to get uniform sizes for cabochons. I have heard that one can use a tile saw. I checked them out and found that some are very very expensive---far beyond what I want to spend for the small amoun...

Re: cabochon distortion
Thanks Morganica foe rhe helpful suggestions. I will try your method of making a large piece to be cut smaller. How do you cut them? I have heard that one could use a tile saw, and water, but would one need a special blade?

Re: cabochon distortion
Thanks Judd for the suggestion that I omit the glass over the dichro. The reason I was using it is that I was told that if I did not put glass over the dichro, the dichro would chip off when the pendant was being worn. Regarding my kiln temp. I developed that firing schedule after a lot of trial and...

cabochon distortion
I need help. I fired a batch of cabochons to be used for earrings. I used 3/4" X 1" black 2mm glass for the bases. The dichro varied from thin to some thick rippled ones. I used 3mm glass tops for all of them-- I cut the dichro almost the same sizes as the base, as close as I could get the...
