Thank you both for responding. I will definately get a copy of Elskus's book and some high-fire Reusche paints to start. I've tried some Pebeo oven type paints in the kiln, and it was bad.
Bert, wow your site is incredible! Wish I could see that enameled transom window in person!

Painting in glass..how to achieve this?
Several years ago I came across some pieces that were amazing, and I want to start working in a similar vein. I wish I had a picture of thier work or the name of the artist in question. They had a storefront studio downtown Cincinnati--I moved to Florida since then and I cannot locate them now. Here...

Dichro
This is coming from a newbie in general, but I have been playing around alot with CBS dichro, both clear and black. Here are some things I have noticed: With Black based, you will get the most reflected light from the dichro making it stand out alot more-the clear will allow whats underneath to show...

Electricity consumption of kilns
Just a general question, can anyone give me a swag (scientific wild assed guess) at the cost of running one 10 hour long, typical firing on a 120v/15 amp Paragon Gf-7 kiln? I just moved into a house and don't even have a feel at what the typical monthly bill is for electric. Is it somewhere around a...

Using cracked pieces
Hey all, newbie here. I am getting into fusing glass primarily for use in my stained glass work, using abstract formed items the way you would use any piece of stained glass-foiled and soldered into a panel. I am going the BE route, but many of my first experiments are using scrap glass...I have hun...
