Re: Screening frit
go to the the dollar store. I have a flour sifter that gives me medium frit and they have reusable coffee filters that will screen out the powder...a holey soup ladle will get out your big chunks, mosiac size. works great, you don't have to build anything and all for $3-4 dollars!

Re: Transparent enamels
I recently was on Fusion Headquarters web-site and they have their transparent enamels on sale...20%. I haven't used them, but I am sure that Gil and Carmen wouldn't sell them if they didn't work!

Re: Pot Melting
I am not sure that any glass will get through a strainer. Go to a specialty metal supplier...you might request "grate" for heavier...or perforated, but be careful of the hole size...too small and you won't get anything or the colours might get so mixed up that it looks like mud. Expect tha...

Re: buying a stand alone controller
I have an Orton full keypad controller and it is fabulous. I also have the 3 button one on my Caldera...and I hate it. It is such a waste of time scrolling up and down to get to your numbers, because I am always adjusting schedules, BLECH. I am planning on getting another full keypad for my newest k...

Re: Do touching pieces fuse together or might there be a gap
I had done a whole series of Stripe plates...I did not overwork these....I cut them, laid them beside each other and capped them with clear. Not a single gap. I had also done a curved piece that was none too perfect(it was an experiement)...it was the peel and the meat for an orange slice dish...aga...

Re: How Picky Are You?
I agree that you do get tired of seeing certain pieces. I find that I also choose to put out the new stuff...because that is what I am enamoured with currently! And of course, I want to make my display interesting and new for people that come and see me more often. I don't want it to become stale an...

Re: Boron Nitride on Kiln shelves
I had used BE wash. These are those character type pods...and sometimes the detail is lost or the wash gets on your item and it is snarly to remove. I had also heard that the MR97 left it nice and glossy. Do you think sand blasting the molds "gently" would be possible?

Re: Boron Nitride on Kiln shelves
What temperature does MR-97 fire to? I thought that you could use it for kiln-casting? Any ideas on how to get kiln wash out of molds? I have been trying since forever and am getting frustrated...there may be sand blasting in their future!!!

Re: Pot Melt Questions ???
If you know any sheet metal mechanics or heating contractors with their own shop they may be able to help you.
