No more Magless Exchange?
I could not find any information about a 2016 Magless Exchange or any information that it has been cancelled? Could someone fill me in on this?

Kiln Wash Crust
I have done about 10 firings on my kiln and have not always needed to put kiln wash on the shelf each time. My last firing which was a bottle slumping put some indentations in the kiln wash when the bottles were removed and made it uneven. I tried to clean all of the wash off the kiln shelf and redo...

Removing label from Absolut bottle
I was wondering if the upper label on a bottle of Absolut Vodka would burn off if left on during slumping? I am referring to the small round label at the top of the bottle in a round indentation which seems like a sticker type label. I researched this on the web and could not find an answer. If this...

Vitrification on Opal?
I bought an Easy Fuse COE 82 sample set from Youghegheny Glass http://www.youghioghenyglass.com/sampleinfo.html I did a test firing and fused 45 1" by 1" pieces on float glass that Yough sells using their recommended firing schedule at http://www.youghioghenyglass.com/easyfuse/firingschedu...

Re: Porcelain Kitchenware for Slumping?
Thank you all for your suggestions. I really appreciate it. Looks like I will have to do some serious sanding. I bought these items at a cooking store and believe they are 100% porcelain.

Porcelain Kitchenware for Slumping?
I searched for this topic in this forum and could not find the information I needed so I apologize ahead of time if this is something that has been discussed here. I purchased some porcelain kitchenware on sale for the purpose of using it for slumping. The surfaces are shiny and it seems impossible ...

Re: Bead Door on Kiln
Ok, so here is another thought...
I also ordered a window which is 1" by 3". I was wondering if this also had the potential of creating a cold spot?

Re: Bead Door on Kiln
OK, so in the end, this may not be a big deal and I might be overreacting. With that being said, I am not not suggesting anything bad about Paragon. I know their reputation for quality and that is why I ordered a kiln from them. Fact is they state on their web site that the kiln may fire a little sl...

Re: Bead Door on Kiln
I did A LOT of research based on what information was available on the web. I am a potter so I am familiar with kilns. I also had classes in fusing, stained glass and glassblowing so I am not exactly naive when it comes to glass. I ordered from Paragon because I know the high quality of their kilns....

Re: Bead Door on Kiln
I also ordered a small window on this kiln. This is all new too me since I have never fired a glass kiln so I am not sure what to think. I think that if the bead window could cause a problem, Paragon should have either stated this on their web site or not had an option for it. It almost seems like v...

Bead Door on Kiln
I ordered a Paragon Fusion 16 about 2 weeks ago for slumping and fusing. I added a bead door fo the order and am having second thoughts after I saw on the Paragon web site that the kiln will fire slower with a bead window. I contacted Paragon and they verified this and also indicated that there coul...
