getting rid of a studio

I am no longer able to pursue the warm glass art, and need to get rid of my whole studio.
I have about 20,000 retail worth of sheet glass, frit, kilns and tools.
I would like suggestions on how to do this.
Thanks

Re: Glass/Cash Survey

I whole heartedly agree. Sometimes it is value perceived. I remember when I started doing Shows, I had some little baubles that I was asking $5 each and was selling maybe 5 or 6 during a 3 day show. One time another artist at the show told me "you really should charge more for your glass. and d...

Re: White spirit

I use "mineral spirits" here in the U.S. as a cleaning agent for my glass before firing. I also use it in my Toyo glass cutter as a lubricant. The really good thing about it is that you do not have to do any more cleaning A gallon costs about $5.00 us and a gallon will last fore a LOOOOOON...

I do not know what "white spirit is," but I don't see what the problem is if you wait until the mixture is dry.

nope. treat it just like it is a product called "ZYP".
paint it on, let it dry for about 30 min. and you are good to go.

Re: Boron Nitride POWDER

Mix the powder with water to a cream consistency and paint it on like you would kiln wash.
I have used it on SS and clay fired stuff with good results.

Re: Drop with Dropring

No, Jan you didn't do anything wrong. That link was supposed to show you how to do a drop with only one firing. That post and the firing schedule were first posted by me, and I do not seem to find it either. I will look and see if I can find a link that works, and if I can. I will post it here. The ...

I am sorry to inform you that if these are "micro"bubbles, then you are stuck with them unless you can figure
out a way to remelt the glass and hold for a long time.

as long as the paper is not torn or disturbed and you can not see the kiln shelf, you can reuse it.

Re: Freeze and Fuse firing cycle

I also use an old electric tooth brush held onto the side of the mold.
This vibrates the powder and gets all of the excess water out.

Re: Glass/Cash Survey

Sometimes you are NOT charging enough. When I was doing shows, I ran into a situation than I was charging $4.00 for some coasters. One of the vendors told me to raise the price. I asked her "why" they are not selling now. Well I tried and raised the price to $9.00 and sold every one. Who k...
