Effect of Samarium on kiln elements
Hello, Someone has requested to use my glass kiln for annealing of glass samples with a special coating. I'm concerned about potential effects on the kiln elements or fumes. The fellow says he has samples of 20x30 cm (8x12 in) float glass, which must be annealed at 600 C (1112 F) for 5 minutes each....

Bullseye glass shrinkage after fusing
Hello, looking for some tips on how to anticipate fuse shrinkage while fusing Bullseye glass. All thoughts/comments welcome! I'm getting ready to make 2 fused pieces. The final sizes of the pieces must be 48,1 x 33 cm (18.9 x 13 inches) and 58,1 x 32,9 cm (22.9 x 13 inches), give or take a smidge. T...

dalle de verre - Wiesenthalhütte
Hello,
I've recently acquired a lot of Wiesenthalhütte dalle de verre. They aren't produced anymore... and are really gorgeous.
Anybody interested in them, or know someone who might be?
thanks,
Lisa

fused glass leaking under support ?
Hello! Thanks in advance for your answers! We're fusing / casting BE glass into a self-made mold 23 x 90 cm (9 x 35 in) for eventual use in a lamp. A single piece of white BE was placed in each form, and then pieces of colored and transparent glass were artfully strewed over it. The side supports ar...

fused glass with "lollipop" support - how?
Hello, I'm making some fused glass pieces that will be on aluminum stick supports. It will look something like a lollipop when finished (but much bigger of course). Thus, when fusing, I must leave a space for the aluminum stick to be inserted and glued. The challenge is getting this space within the...
