Stainless steel draping mold question
Using a stainless steel mold, I draped a piece of glass over the mold. It draped great except when I took it out of the kiln, one edge of the glass had melted under the edge. The glass is loose on the mold, but it won't come off the mold. I've read about reheating the glass and then dropping it in c...

Slumping problem.
I'm wondering if someone have a suggestion of what I could do to salvage a piece. I full fused a 6 1/2 piece with 2 pieces of 96. Then I slumped it into a 6 1/2" square mold. It was a mold with about a half inch drop and a 1 1/2" lip. My slumping schedule was: 300 - 1100 - .20 150 - 1250 -...

Low firing schedule
I'm trying to make snowflakes and the mold I'm using calls for a low fire schedule. I'm using 96 and the schedule I found is
500 - 1200 - 15
500 - 1400 - 5
9999 - 960 - 60
Would this schedule be what I want?

Re: Opaque paint markers
I'm going to use black and the white ones are sold in fused glass outlets. I've used the white to mark where I want to cut glass and it wll not come off.

Opaque paint markers
If I use an opaque paint marker on glass, should I leave it or would I have to fire it to make it permanent? I have Glassline paint markers but they make a mess on what I am working on and they sometimes come out in blobs.

Re: Best saw for cutting glass
I bought a cheap wet tile saw at Home Depot for about $89.00. Then I ordered a good diamond blade for about $60.00. Works great.

Iridized glass
I purchased a sheet of iridized glass and have used it three times. The first two projects I made, I fired face up and when they came out of the kiln, the glass was just plain blue. I then fired a project face down and it was fine but it was not shiny like firing face up. I asked a shop about it and...

Re: Pot Melt
Using a sheet of clear glass is a wonderful idea. Put the clear glass on the kiln washed shelf and let the pot melt drop onto the clear glass and dam if I need to - is that correct?

Pot Melt
I finally got up the courage to try a pot melt. My firing schedule worked out good and the glass melted and annealed as it should, but I used 1/8" fiber paper to melt the glass on and blocked all four sides with kaiser board. The bottom of the glass is really, really rough -I read a lot of tuto...
